ICAS 11

In 2019, ICAS 11 will return to Europe, to where it began: in Leiden, the Netherlands. The historic city of Leiden is home to one of the oldest universities and several most renowned Asia research centers. Leiden University will be the main host of ICAS 11, thereby partnering with the city, research institutions and museums.

ICAS Book Prize 2017 Colleagues’ Choice Award

 

The ICAS Book Prize (IBP) awards ceremony will be held during ICAS 10 (20-23 July 2017) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In addition to the jury-selected prizes, the IBP will also present the Colleagues' Choice Award. For this we invite you, the readers, to vote for your favourite titles. 

To select both your favourite Humanities title and your favourite Social Sciences title, please cast your votes here.

Voting will be closed end-of-day 20 June 2017.

All votes will be verified after voting is closed. Only 1 vote per IP address will be accepted. All duplicate votes will be deleted!

The winner will be announced at ICAS 10 (20-23 July 2017).

ICAS 10 Chiang Mai 2017

ICAS 10 will be held at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC) in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 20-23 July 2017. It will be organized by the Regional Center for Social Change and Sustainable Development (RSCD), with support from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Chiang Mai University (CMU), one of the best universities in Southeast Asia. 1250-2000 Asia specialists and representatives of civil society are expected to attend.

The International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) is the largest international gathering in the field of Asian Studies. ICAS attracts participants from over 60 countries to engage in global dialogues on Asia that transcend boundaries between academic disciplines and geographic areas. Since 1997, ICAS has brought more than 20,000 academics together at nine conventions. The ICAS Secretariat is hosted by the International Institute for Asian Studies in the Netherlands.

Experts in the field of Asian Studies will meet in the delightful Northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, famous for its rich cultural heritage. Events will include: panels and roundtable discussions, keynote speeches, craft exhibitions, a film and documentary festival and the first Asian Studies Book Fair. Enjoy the multitude of networking opportunities, possibilities to share your research and to meet with academic publishers.

Join us in Chiang Mai, conveniently located within a five-hour flight from all major Asian cities and easily accessible from all other continents. Thailand offers visa-free entry for nationals from many countries.
